A Voice Across America
The Fraternal Order of Police is the largest and most commanding voice on
behalf of our nation's law enforcement officers. Our proud organization was
founded in 1915 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its main goal was to improve the
working conditions of police there, who were working 12 hour shifts, 365 days a
year. Since then, it has grown to over 2,000 local lodges with 299,000 members
across our great land.
From Massachusetts to California, from Florida to Minnesota, members of the FOP
are speaking out on behalf of their fellow officers--the men and women who
serve our communities and protect our nation's freedoms. No one knows the
dangers and difficulties faced by police officers in today's society better
than another police officer. For this reason, the FOP is proud of its tradition
of "Police Representing Police." This is also the reason that more
labor contracts are negotiated by FOP lodges than any other professional police
association.
The North Dakota Fraternal Order
of Police (NDFOP) was founded in 1993, is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the advancement of law
enforcement in the state of North Dakota. Membership is
open to all law enforcement officers across the great
state of North Dakota.
The Primary objectives of the
NDFOP are to serve the nearly 550 current members by
providing support, training and fellowship as well as
enhancing the level of law enforcement service in North
Dakota.
AS a non-profit organization,
NDFOP and its subordinate lodges are dependent upon the
financial support of both private citizens and business.
Financing is obtained through sponsorships, and private
donations to our organization. For this we are
truly grateful for the support.

58th
Biennial National Conference |
 |
The 58th National
Conference was held in Louisville Kentucky between
August 12th - 17th, 2007. North Dakota sent a
total of 21 Delegates to represent its members.
Congratulations to Kentucky State Lodge for hosting an
exceptional convention. The first night of the
events package was "The Oakridge Boys" who entertained
and gave an excellent concert. The second night
we
enjoyed a trip down the majestic Ohio River, the Belle
of Louisville. The Belle of Louisville had a cash bar on
board that provide non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
to passengers and a live band. The third night, we
enjoyed the The Kentucky Pork Producers who were grillin’
up some tasty chops, and all the fixins'. The Pork
chops were thick and delicious! Of course all these
events took place after the meetings on the convention
floor.
